The
Enhancement of Science Instruction in Secondary Classrooms
for Low Achieving Students Through the Use of Metacognitive
Instruction
Current
education trends dictate that students with disabilities
will receive a majority of their instruction in general
education classes. Traditionally students with disabilities
have not performed well in these classes. General education
teachers need assistance to develop instruction strategies
to assist students to acquire, maintain, and generalize
the information in content area subjects. This can be
done through teacher training in metacognitive strategies.
