Water Damage to COEDU
Thanks to all of you who acted quickly to deal with the flooding of the first floor as a result of last month’s storm. The COEDU sustained a great deal of water damage. Hard hit areas included Student Academic Services, Pre-Education Advising, the Dean’s Office suite, FCIT, the computer lab, and EDU 115. Faculty and staff rose to the occasion and I am happy to report that classes were moved and instruction was not interrupted. That’s a tribute to all of you! We also appreciate the efforts of Physical Plant in coming to our rescue!
Kris Mathews, (pictured right with Dean Kennedy) Program Manager, FCIT, was awarded the Staff Senate Quiet Quality Award! Roy Winkelman, Ph.D., Director of the FCIT said Kris is, “an indispensable part of the team.”
Kelly Fletcher, (pictured bottom, right, with Joan Kaywell, Ph.D.), was also the recipient of a Quiet Quality Award. Kelly “... does his job with great skill and patience, even when we faculty are about ready to pull our hair out in technological frustration,” said Kaywell. He is “... calm and thorough ... and ... he always gets it right!” Congratulations!
As you can see, several pumps have removed the water and the University will be dealing with returning our building to its original beauty! Special thanks to all of you who persevered amidst all the noise of the pumps --- pictured above, left we see Diane Briscoe, Ph.D., working on the graduation list to ensure that all students graduated on time!
