Student Attendance at First Class Meeting.

6C4-3.016


(1) UNDERGRADUATE COURSES:
Students are required to attend the first class meeting of the semester of each undergraduate course in which they are registered. This policy applies to all students who are registered for an undergraduate course prior to the first day of the semester and whose names are printed on the First Class Roll. This policy does not apply to students who late register or add undergraduate courses during the first week of classes.

(a) Students whose names are on the First Class Roll but who do not attend the first class meeting of the semester will be deleted by the instructor of the course from the First Class Roll and their spaces made available to other students.
(b) Students who are unable to attend the first class meeting due to extenuating circumstances beyond their control must notify the instructor or academic department prior to the first class meeting to request a waiver of the first class meeting requirement.

(2) Faculty who instruct undergraduate level courses are required to take attendance from the First Class Roll at the first class meeting of the semester and report absences to their department chair or designated office.
